Take out what should not be there

Deleting pages is usually about what you are sending, not about tidiness. A bank wants one statement, not twelve months. An employer wants the certificate, not the whole scanned folder. A form accepts three pages and you have nine.

Sending everything because separating it is fiddly means sharing more than you needed to. This makes it a few seconds' work, on your own device.

Say it the way you would say it

Type 2, 5-7 and that is what goes. Single pages, ranges, or both. Reversed ranges are read the obvious way, and anything outside the document is ignored rather than throwing an error at you mid-typing.

The numbers are positions in the file, counting from one โ€” not the numbers printed on the pages. A report whose first page is an unnumbered cover still counts that cover as page 1 here.

Deleting is not redacting

Worth being blunt about, because getting it wrong has consequences.

Removing a page removes it completely โ€” it is not hidden, it is gone. But that only helps if the sensitive material is confined to the pages you remove. If a name, an account number or an address also appears on a page you are keeping, deleting other pages does nothing for it.

Black rectangles drawn over text are worse still: the text is usually still in the file underneath and can be copied straight out.

Practical notes

  • You cannot delete every page โ€” the tool stops you, because an empty PDF is not a document.
  • Check the result before sending, particularly if you deleted pages for privacy reasons.
  • Keep your original. This produces a new file and never modifies what you dropped in.

This tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your file is never uploaded โ€” it never leaves your device, so there is nothing for us or anyone else to read, store or leak.

Common questions

How do I type which pages to remove?

The way you would say it out loud โ€” "2, 5-7". Single pages, ranges, or a mix, separated by commas. Anything outside the document is ignored rather than causing an error.

Is deleting a page the same as redacting it?

No, and the difference matters. The deleted pages are genuinely gone from the new file. But if the sensitive information also appears on a page you kept, deleting does nothing about it.

What is the difference between this and splitting?

Only which list you type. Here you name what to remove; in Split you name what to keep. Both exist because inverting a long list by hand is exactly where mistakes happen.

Will the file get smaller after deleting pages?

Usually, but not always in proportion. Many PDFs share images across pages, so removing a page does not necessarily remove its share of the bytes. If you need a specific size, compress the result afterwards.
